The registration link can be found on all respective organizations’ websites, plus their social media channels. Interested students must register prior to May 13, 2022. If chosen, there is a $150 registration fee to attend the trip, with all other trip expenses are covered by ILLI. Notifications will be made within one week of the application deadline. Registration is based first on age, then on the quality of response to the prompt listed on the registration form. Tours/presentations are subject to change.Ī maximum of 30 students will be accepted. Our trip will also include educational presentations by the Kentucky Beef Council, NeoGen, and Alltech, plus a team-building exercise at Boone Creek Outdoors.
Tour locations include, but not limited to: Maschhoff’s, Blue Grass Stockyards, Keeneland Racetrack, Godolphin Thoroughbred Horse Farm, Golden Age Beef Farm, and Harvest Home Dairy Farm. ILLI participants must be 16-20 years old by the time of trip. ILLI participants need not be pork/beef/dairy producers or from pork/beef/dairy producing families but must exhibit a sincere interest in the livestock industry and agriculture. Youth will learn about pork, beef and dairy production, research, consumer information and issues that affect the livestock industry today. The destination and dates for this year’s trip are Lexington, Kentucky June 20 – June 23. It is hosted in a different location each year. ILLI is a 4-day trip that focuses on leadership, citizenship, and communication skills through hands-on experiences. This program is sponsored by the three previously mentioned organizations and is administered by their respective staff. ILLI provides an opportunity for young men and women to become actively involved in the livestock industry and all of agriculture.
